Hyndburn Connected exists to help people find useful local information, opportunities, activities and support, and to strengthen connections across Hyndburn.
We want the platform and the communities around it to feel welcoming, useful and safe.
Be respectful
Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.
We will not knowingly publish or support content that:

targets or harasses individuals

contains threatening or abusive language

promotes hatred or discrimination

deliberately humiliates or intimidates people

encourages violence or unlawful behaviour.
Disagreement is fine. Personal abuse is not.
Be accurate
If you submit an event, service, opportunity, notice or other information, please make reasonable efforts to ensure it is accurate.
Let us know if something changes, is cancelled or is no longer available.
Hyndburn Connected may correct obvious errors, edit wording or remove outdated information.
Keep it relevant
Content should have a genuine connection to Hyndburn or be useful to people living, working or spending time in the borough.
We may decline content that is primarily spam, misleading advertising or unrelated promotion.
Protect people's privacy
Do not submit someone else's personal information without a legitimate reason or appropriate permission.
This includes private contact details, photographs, sensitive information or information that could put someone at risk.
Extra care should be taken where children or vulnerable people are involved.
Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of children and adults at risk is important to us.
Hyndburn Connected is primarily an information and signposting platform and does not investigate safeguarding concerns itself.
Where there is an immediate risk of harm, contact the appropriate emergency service.

Events and community activities
Organisers submitting activities are responsible for ensuring that their events are appropriately managed, including any necessary:

safeguarding arrangements

risk assessments

insurance

permissions
-
accessibility arrangements
-
licences or legal requirements.
Being listed on Hyndburn Connected does not mean an event or organisation has been formally approved or accredited by us.
Businesses and organisations
Businesses, charities, community groups and public organisations are welcome to share relevant information.
Listings and mentions should be clear and accurate and must not deliberately mislead users about prices, availability, qualifications or services.
Images and copyright
Only submit images, logos or other content that you have permission to use.
Where identifiable people appear in photographs, appropriate permission should be obtained where required.
Moderation
Hyndburn Connected may edit, refuse, hide or remove content that:

breaches these standards
-
is inaccurate or misleading
-
is no longer relevant
-
creates a safeguarding or legal concern
-
infringes somebody else's rights
-
seriously undermines the purpose of the platform.
Where appropriate, we may contact the person or organisation that submitted the content before taking action.
